I am very blessed to say that I was raised in a home where spirituality was encouraged and modeled. My parents raised me in the Roman Catholic Church and helped instill in me great respect for God. When tragedy struck our family at the sudden loss of my father when I was 12 years old, I remember my mom telling me that God would see us through it and that He would never leave us or forsake us. For as long as I can remember, I have believed and trusted in Jesus. It was through my youth choir and a special retreat called Teens Encounter Christ that at 16 years old, I first started falling in love with Jesus. Unfortunately though, I still lived my life according to my own moral standards in many ways. As one can imagine, that led to me living life in contradiction with what God’s best would have been for me. By my mid-20s, I was making a lot of choices that put a wedge in my relationship with God and caused me tremendous heartache. It was at this time that, by a divine set of circumstances, He led me to move to Columbus, Ohio and to go to church at the Vineyard Christian Fellowship. Soon after arriving there in early 1997, I had a profound experience with Jesus that led me into a deep and intimate relationship with Him. I finally understood what it really meant to commit my life to God. I spent the next year and half in a concentrated time of receiving healing and freedom from my past. God is so good to make gardens out of our deserts and beauty from ashes! I am still amazed at how much He has changed me, how He makes all things new and how He uses everything the adversary of our souls means for evil and turns it for good. After that time, while I continued pursuing inner healing, I also began doing as much study as possible to grow spiritually. In 2000, I attended the School of Ministry at Folly’s End Church in Croydon, England, now called The Lost Glory School of Worship and Ministry. It was an incredible time of growth in understanding my identity in God, my Source of significance and understanding my spiritual gifts. I will forever be grateful to all of my friends at that church who poured their lives into me. And I am also grateful to say that I am still in close relationship with them as one of their associate ministers. From 2001 to the end of 2004, I served in leadership and on the worship team at BridgeWay Church in Denver, Colorado. God used me to release spontaneous worship there that brought healing and freedom in various settings and to help many people learn how to hear the voice of God. In 2002, I discovered Streams Ministries and began taking their Institute for Spiritual Development courses. During one of the classes, I heard about how they had been using the gift of prophecy and biblical dream interpretation to touch people with the love of God. I was blown away by what I heard and immediately talked to my pastor about bringing their classes to Denver. As a result of the training, we began doing similar types of outreaches. Since then, I’ve been training and leading prophetic and dream team outreaches in such varied places as local malls, coffeehouses, new age festivals, and arts and film festivals. It’s been an absolute blast! Nothing compares to seeing a person’s spirit receiving a touch from their Creator. In November 2004, BridgeWay ordained me and I went to work for Doug Addison of InLight Connection . I was mentored by him for a little over three years and can’t say enough about how invaluable the experience was. Words will never be able to express my gratitude to Doug and his wife, Linda, for all they poured into me. What they imparted will impact me forever! In 2007, I founded Images of Light. The name comes from the understanding that God is Light and that we are made in His image…therefore, we are images of His Light. My hope is to help people understand the unique way they were created to reflect His love and Light to the world! And so the journey continues… |
